Shining Light Learning Center Programs

Programs (ages 6 weeks through 12 years)

Full-time child care is defined as enrollment in the center for 5 hours per day for 5 days per week.
Part-time child care is defined as enrollment in the center less than 5 hours per day for 5 days per week.
Preschool sessions are defined as enrollment in the center for M-W-F preschool only sessions for less than 5 hours per day.
Before/After school care is defined as enrollment in the center for less than 5 hours per day including early mornings before school begins or late afternoons when school is dismissed. This would also include early outs and 2 hour late starts.
Inter-sessions are defined as enrollment in the center during the time period the schools that participate in balanced calendars are on break. Services for school age children will be made available during this time.
Summer Enrichment programs are defined as enrollment into the program for the summer months when school is on their summer break.

Our curriculum is designed to foster happy/healthy children. It will be developmentally appropriate and will address the holistic being of each child served. A balance of quiet/active, individual, small/large, and teacher/child initiated activities will be provided.

Curriculum and theme-based units

Lesson Plans

On staff will develop and implement weekly lesson plans that will provide the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. They will include art music, language, science, math, dramatic play, gross motor, fine motor, nutrition, and outside activities on a daily basis.

Outside Time

We believe that children should always have the opportunity to experience the world outside. Therefore your child will be taken outside each day to gain teachable moments from the sun, rain, clouds and snow. However, we will not be going outside if the temperature is 90 degrees or above in the summer or below 32 degrees in the winter.
